On 25 August 2022, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt and Bangkok councilors, along with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), the National Telecom Public Company Limited, communication line operator units, and Metropolitan Electricity Authority led by MEA Deputy Governor Pipat Cholumpai and officers made onsite visits to reorganize communication lines at Soi Sukhumvit 55 (Thonglor Road).

MEA, as an agency responsible for power distribution in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, has been conducting communication line reorganization projects in accordance with the state policy to increase safety, to make the landscapes beautiful, and to reduce accidents. MEA has collaborated with the National Broadcasting and Telecommunication Commission (NBTC), the agency responsible for communication lines and communication line agencies to reorganize the communication lines in the area of Soi Sukhumvit 55 from Sukhumvit Road intersection to Phetchaburi Road intersection with a distance of 5 kilometers to be completed by September 2022.

In this implementation, MEA not only facilitates the related communication line units to work safely at heights but also installs crossarms for attachment of communication lines on the light poles while ensuring all communication lines still in use are properly installed in accordance with the standards and the MEA’s communication line installation requirements, and enhanced with records of owners of communication lines and MEA’s geographic information system (GIS) for effective management and control.
