MEA wins outstanding cybersecurity award at Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Awards 2022

On August 15, 2022, Mr. Chaiwut Thanakamanusorn, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, presided over the ceremony to offer plaques and honorary Prime Minister awards: Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Awards 2022, held by the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA) while Mr. Thanee Parichatintranee, Deputy Governor of Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), represented MEA to receive the award plaque for an agency with outstanding cybersecurity in accordance with the international standards in the category of Energy and Utilities at the Miracle Grand Convention Hotel, Laksi District, Bangkok.

The “Prime Minister Awards: Thailand Cybersecurity Excellence Awards 2022” has been reviewed by specialized judges who are renowned professionals from various fields. Overall, 133 agencies have participated in the program, 34 agencies have passed the assessment, and 21 agencies have received the awards under different categories, totaling 31 awards. This year’s event would promote the implementation and supervision for the critical information infrastructure units, the government and private agencies, and other agencies to enhance their ability to prevent, deal with, and reduce the risk of cyber threats in compliance with the Cybersecurity Act B.E. 2562 [2019] and the international standards, as well as to raise cybersecurity awareness.
