MEA wins Thailand Kaizen Award 2022, confirming its standpoint as an innovative organization for metropolitan life

On August 11, 2022, Mr. Thanee Parichatintranee, Deputy Governor of Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), accompanied by the MEA Team, have presented Kaizen's works at the THAILAND KAIZEN AWARD 2022, held by the Technology Promotion Association (Thailand-Japan) from August 8 to 11, 2022 at the Grand Hall, BITEC Bang Na, Bangkok.

MEA, as a state enterprise under the Ministry of Interior which distributes and maintains the electricity system in Bangkok, Nonthaburi and Samut Prakan, has been committed to moving forward the corporate vision: Energy for City Life, Energize Smart Living. MEA has always been ready to improve the electricity system for sufficiency, stability and safety to meet the demands of the metropolitan areas while being committed to promoting the development of innovations and improving the work processes for efficiency to provide better services to electricity users. This year’s competition, MEA has submitted Kaizen works and received the following awards:

Gold Award

  • Improvement of MEA Connext Application from the Digital Technology Development Department and the Power System Geo-Informatics Office

Silver Award

  • Hotline service, working in a bucket truck to cut break without approaching the cut-off point from the Construction Department Kaizen Team

  • Roller for low-voltage cable laying from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Bang Kapi Team

  • Replacement of network fuse without switching off the power from the Safety Kaizen Bang Na Team, Metropolitan Electricity Authority Bang Na District

  • Re-Design Rack, adjusting rack layout for low-voltage cable work from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Bang Na Team

  • MEA OK Project from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Samut Prakan Team

Bronze Award

  • Time reduction in stripping ASC electrical wires from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Bang Bua Thong Team

Popular Vote award

  • Roller for low-voltage cable laying from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Bang Kapi 2 Team

  • Re-Design Rack, adjusting rack layout for low-voltage cable work from the Metropolitan Electricity Authority Bang Na Team

The improvement of such processes has made MEA more productive and efficient to increase customer satisfaction in line with the MEA’s vision: Energy for City Life, Energize Smart Living.
