On October 3, 2019, Dr. Suwit Mesinsee, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, presided over the INNOVATION THAILAND EXPO 2019 or ITE 2019 while Mr. Kirapat Jiamset, Governor of Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), representing MEA, received a plaque of honor as one of the key sponsors of the event. A special lecture on “Innovation for Metropolitan Lifestyles” was also delivered by Mr. Jaturong Suriyasasin, MEA Assistant Governor, as well as an exhibition of MEA’s futuristic electrical innovations. The ITE 2019 was held from October 3 to 5 at Samyan Mitrtown, Rama IV Road, Bangkok.
Mr. Kirapat stated that MEA, a state enterprise under the Ministry of Interior, is committed to driving innovation, elevating the power quality, and expanding services through advanced technologies to meet urban lifestyles. MEA therefore supported the ITE 2019, held by the National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) with an aim to present a "Social Innovation" to help reduce a disparity in the metropolitan areas. Its concept is to improve the life quality in terms of growing wealth and good health care which thereby lead to sustainable happiness. MEA provided a budget to sponsor the event and to display the MEA's state-of-the-art technologies such as electric vehicle, solar rooftop, MEA Smart Life and MEA EV applications, electronic bill payment (E-Payment), and soon-to-be-launched Smart Meter.
In addition, MEA Assistant Governor Jaturong Suriyasasin gave a lecture on Innovation for Metropolitan Lifestyles, presenting a perspective on the MEA's service development to meet user demand as well as exchanging ideas with the participants for further improvement. Those interested are welcome to experience modern innovations of MEA and other agencies free of charge from today until October 5 at Samyan Mitrtown.
