MEA Governor attends Asia-Pacific Climate Week 2019 to highlight EV for carbon-free society

Mr. Kirapat Jiamseth, Governor of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) joined a panel discussion on Long-term Strategies for Decarbonization, along with leading environmental experts from across the Asia-Pacific region at the Asia-Pacific Climate Week (APCW) 2019 onSeptember 4, 2019. The conference was organized under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) to reaffirm their commitment in dealing with the rapid climate change crisis. The MEA Governor has presented an eco-friendly technology of electric automobiles. As a matter of fact, MEA has been the first agency using electric cars in business as well as conducting research and development, and pushing for the first set-up of the EV charging station in MEA’s District areas while consistently developing and encouraging the use of MEA EV Application, an application for electric vehicle users. All efforts have reflected MEA’s commitment and readiness to become a part of building a carbon-free society for sustainability. The event was held at the United Nations Conference Center in Bangkok.
